“Verified” here means published by Cornerstone Craftsman on its own website or Candid profile. It does not mean a third-party audit.

Needs confirmation: A 95% retention rate is published on the current Program Results page, but the reporting period, participant count, and internal source are not given. Candid lists retention as a metric the organization defined, then marked “no longer tracked,” without a displayed total. It is not featured until staff can supply those details.
Needs confirmation: Waitlist figures conflict: FAQ (17) vs. Our History (over 45). Do not use either number in fundraising until confirmed.

“My son has matured and developed a clearer vision for his future since joining the Cornerstone Craftsman program. He’s inspired to pursue entrepreneurship thanks to Mr. Roberto's guidance. He sees himself as a future leader and businessman. As a proud parent, I love seeing my son excited to go to Cornerstone Craftsman each morning. He's learning valuable skills to prepare him for whatever comes after high school or college. I'm incredibly grateful to Mr. Roberto for his dedication to these young men. Cornerstone Craftsman is a true example of a 'village' supporting our children's growth.”
“We are so proud of our son's progress since joining Mr. Gomez’s program at Cornerstone Craftsman. He is gaining different skills, knowledge, and know-how that are different from the classroom. It makes me so happy that he joined this program. He is more confident, motivated, and ready to go. The program has instilled a sense of community involvement and sparked an interest in potential career paths like real estate or construction. Thank you so much, Mr. Gomez. Please keep up this good work. As parents, we highly appreciate you and will always support you.”
“I'm 15 and a student at Alexandria City High School. This program has helped me in so many ways. I've learned many new skills I can use for the future, whatever path I choose. It's also helped me develop my communication skills, making it easier to talk to people. Plus, the program keeps me focused and out of trouble and the streets.”
Additional published voices, including a probation officer and a comment from Executive Director Roberto Gomez, are collected on the testimonials page (5 quotations from the original site).
Cornerstone’s Candid/GuideStar profile lists outcome areas the organization has defined, including OSHA-10 completion, CPR/First Aid, job placement, work-ready documents, groceries distributed with ALIVE!, and families served. Several of those metrics are marked “no longer tracked” on Candid and do not display yearly totals in the public profile snapshot used for this redesign.
The former Program Results page linked program purpose to juvenile crime, gang recruitment, teen pregnancy, and dropout rates, without citations or dates. Those community claims are not repeated here as program results.
Needs confirmation: Add citations before republishing any citywide crime, dropout, or poverty statistics. Candidate sources include ACPS, Alexandria court services, and Virginia Department of Education, with year and geography labeled.
The Current Needs page asks for $600,000 in operational and program funding to cover expenses and increase capacity. It also describes a goal of increasing training days while serving the current pre-apprentice cohort. See that page for the published funding ranges.
